Basketball Game Preview: North Idaho Christian Royals vs. House of the Lord Christian Academy

North Idaho Christian is 9-1 against House of the Lord Christian Academy since December of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The North Idaho Christian Royals will be playing at home against House of the Lord Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Monday, North Idaho Christian was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to Oaks Academy. While the Royals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Oaks Academy 14-6 in the first quarter.

North Idaho Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Chelsey Cate, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds, and Belle Jordan, who went 7 for 16 to rack up 20 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. Cate is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kenna Brotherton, who posted two points along with eight boards and six assists.

Even though they lost, North Idaho Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 44 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, House of the Lord Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-38 heartbreaker at the hands of North Idaho Christian. The game was a 15-15 toss-up at halftime, but House of the Lord Christian Academy couldn't quite close it out.

North Idaho Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for House of the Lord Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

North Idaho Christian skirted past House of the Lord Christian Academy 41-38 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Does North Idaho Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will House of the Lord Christian Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
