Volleyball Recap: Hebron Hawks vs. Lovejoy Leopards
Hebron managed to slip by Lovejoy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hawks lost 3-0 to the Leopards on Tuesday. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Leopards apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
Hebron took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22, 25-23.
Kate McGough paced Hebron's offense, picking up ten kills. McGough were helped by Camryn Colon and Kamryn Mullican, who contributed seven assists each. McGough was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Lovejoy had a senior duo take command as Avery Gray had 17 digs and four assists and Emerson Boyd had 14 assists and seven digs. Gray is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.
This is the second loss in a row for Hebron and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Lovejoy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
Hebron has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against McKinney on the 21st. As for Lovejoy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Coronado on the 21st.
