Basketball Recap: St. James Academy Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against East last Thursday, St. James Academy came back down to earth. The St. James Academy Thunder took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Valley West Jaguars on Friday. The Thunder were probably out for revenge after losing 64-48 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why St. James Academy lost, don't look at Emmitt Peters. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Peters a new career-high in assists (four). Noah Hornback was another key player, putting up five points.

St. James Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5. As for Blue Valley West, they now also have a winning record of 6-5.

St. James Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-58 defeat against Shawnee Mission East on the 25th. Blue Valley West has also already played their next contest, a 54-47 victory against McPherson on the 25th.
