Basketball Recap: Sydni Goss' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Echols County over Clinch County

It was a proper cat-fight when Echols County duked it out with Clinch County on Friday. The Echols County Wildcats lost to the Clinch County Panthers on the road by a 43-28 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-45 back in December of 2024.

Echols County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sydni Goss, who posted nine points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Jayden Carter, who put up nine points.

Echols County's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Clinch County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Echols County nor Clinch County have any future games scheduled.
