Simpson Academy blew Starkville Academy out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Starkville Academy got their revenge. The Cougars fell just short of the Volunteers by a score of 56-53. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Simpson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Starkville Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Simpson Academy will face off against Leake Academy at 7:45 p.m. on December 2. As for Starkville Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Jumpertown at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday. The Volunteers will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.67 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
