Basketball Recap: Lee County Comes Up Short

Lee County lost to Harnett Central back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Yellow Jackets lost to the Trojans on the road by a 40-24 margin.

Despite the loss, Lee County still got an impressive performance from Kallie Byrd, who posted six points and ten boards.

Harnett Central found their leader in freshman Emma Avery, who earned 11 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for Avery. Another player making a difference was Aiyana Bynum, who scored seven points and nine boards.

Lee County now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Harnett Central, their record is now 7-11.

Lee County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-28 defeat against Union Pines on the 10th. As for Harnett Central, they have also already played their next matchup, a 48-27 loss against Southern Lee on the 10th.
