Softball Recap: Pope County Victorious

Pope County took a 16-run loss the last time they faced off against Century, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates came out on top in a nail-biter against the Centurions on Monday, sneaking past 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

The team relied heavily on Jaydan Holmes, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

The win got Pope County back to even at 8-8. As for Century, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Pope County will face off against Gallatin County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Century, they will welcome Cobden at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
