Basketball Recap: Chideubem Muogboh Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Vistamar

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rolling Hills Prep, Hawthorne Math & Science Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Vistamar Vikings by a score of 38-31. This was a revenge game for the The Aviators : when they faced off against the Vikings back in December of 2024, they had to take a 29-26 defeat.

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chideubem Muogboh, who posted 13 points. Jocelyn Perez was another key player, putting up ten points.

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy's record is now 12-3. As for Vistamar, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing California Academy of Math & Science the next time they take the court. Vistamar will head out to face California Academy of Math & Science at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Hawthorne Math & Science Academy will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
