Softball Preview: Saint Viator Lions vs. St. Edward Green Wave
Saint Viator has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the St. Edward Green Wave at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saint Viator is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Saint Viator was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They walked away with an 11-8 win over Evanston. The victory was just what Saint Viator needed coming off of a 16-6 loss in their prior game.
Hannah Grossman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Grossman was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and a stolen base.
In other batting news, Saint Viator let Ava Moreno and Jillian Bollard loose on the outfield. Moreno went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI, while Bollard went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI.
