Baseball Recap: Cypress Creek Takes a Loss

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Cypress Creek was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Mitchell Mustangs by a score of 3-2. If the Coyotes were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in March of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Colin McGee was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Andrew Farriss was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Kai Lachance was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

The loss snapped Cypress Creek's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-6 record. As for Mitchell, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Cypress Creek will face off against Fivay at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cypress Creek is facing Fivay at the right time seeing as Fivay is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Mitchell, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-6 win against Land O' Lakes on the 21st.
