Volleyball Preview: Bernstein Dragons vs. Belmont Sentinels

Bernstein is 8-2 against Belmont since October of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Bernstein Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Belmont Sentinels at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bernstein has three straight victories, Belmont has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Monday, Bernstein narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Robert F. Kennedy Community 3-2.

Bernstein was dominant in the second set, but otherwise had just enough against a tough Robert F. Kennedy Community squad. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-11, 21-25, 23-25, 16-14.

Bernstein was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Belmont didn't have quite enough to beat Contreras on Wednesday and fell 3-2.

While Belmont had to take the loss, they sure made a game of it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-14, 23-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-10.

Bernstein's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3. As for Belmont, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-3.
