Recap: Alexander Cougars vs. New Manchester Jaguar
The Alexander Cougars entered their tilt with the New Manchester Jaguar with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Alexander walked away with a 76-65 victory over New Manchester on Tuesday. Given Alexander's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while New Manchester is ranked 172nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Braedan Lue, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Hutchinson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Alexander pushed their record up to 18-2 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road. As for New Manchester, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alexander will take on Newnan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Manchester, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Douglas County at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th.
