Softball Recap: Hoover Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Burbank, Hoover was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Bolsa Grande Matadors by a score of 12-7. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tornados needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Hannah Parker was a standout: she scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Haylee Malagon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Hoover has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Bolsa Grande, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Coming up, Hoover is taking a road trip to square off against Firebaugh at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Bolsa Grande, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Whitney at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Matadors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
