Thomas Sumter Academy came into Wednesday's match looking for another win against Calhoun Academy, but Layla Walker wouldn't allow it. The Calhoun Academy Cavaliers pulled ahead with a 36-35 photo finish over the Thomas Sumter Academy Generals on Wednesday thanks in part to Walker, who posted 16 points. Those 16 points gave her a new career-high.

Thomas Sumter Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Malayia English, who earned 15 points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds. That was a full 42.9% of Thomas Sumter Academy's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Anna Bell was another key player, putting up five points along with seven boards and seven steals.

The win made it two in a row for Calhoun Academy and bumps their season record up to 10-16. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two points across that stretch. As for Thomas Sumter Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.
