Basketball Recap: Van-Far Skates Past Salisbury with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Van-Far). They claimed a resounding 79-50 victory over the Salisbury Panthers. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Van-Far to victory, but perhaps none more so than Pacey Reading, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gaven Gaston, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points along with eight assists and six rebounds.

Van-Far smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Van-Far's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Salisbury, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Van-Far will take on North Callaway in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Van-Far's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games. As for Salisbury, they will head out to take on Knox County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
