Baseball Recap: Ionia Comes Up Short

Ionia made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Portland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since May 17, 2024.

Ionia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Roundtree, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Ionia now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Portland, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Ionia will challenge Alma at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Portland, they will square off against Williamston at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 2.2, the Hornets 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
