Softball Recap: Eagan Comes Up Short

If Eagan was feeling good fresh off their 19-1 takedown of Richfield on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats came up short against the Lakeville South Cougars on Monday, falling 9-1. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Eagan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlyn Barry, who went 1-for-4 with one double. That double was Barry's first of the season.

Eagan's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Lakeville South, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Eagan is set to take on their familiar foe Eastview at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lakeville South will face off against rival Farmington at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 2.4, the Tigers 1.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
