Recap: Neodesha Blue Streaks vs. Humboldt Cubs

After flying high against the Cherryvale Chargers last Monday, the Neodesha Blue Streaks came back down to earth. Neodesha fell 50-40 to Humboldt on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Neodesha can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Humboldt is ranked 139th).

Humboldt was led to victory by Sam Hull and Colden Cook. Hull scored 16 points along with eight rebounds, while Cook scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Hull has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Sterling, who scored three points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Neodesha's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Humboldt, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neodesha will take on Northeast at TBD on Tuesday. As for Humboldt, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cherryvale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Humboldt's favor as the squad sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Cherryvale has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
