Volleyball Recap: St. Charles Picks Up 12th Straight Win at Home

St. Charles faced Bishop Watterson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Cardinals walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

St. Charles got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 23-25, 36-34, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Bishop Watterson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jack Spiers had ten digs and five assists. Spiers is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last four games he's played.

St. Charles' win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4. As for Bishop Watterson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Charles will face off against Beavercreek at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop Watterson, they will venture away from home to challenge Mt. Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
