Soccer Recap: Manning Takes a Loss

Manning was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marion Swamp Foxes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Marion this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on Tuesday.

Manning's goal came courtesy of Lennox Blackwell, which was the first he's scored this season.

Manning's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Marion, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-14.

Manning wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 7-2 win against Calhoun County on the 18th. As for Marion, they have also already played their next matchup, a 4-1 loss against Andrews on the 28th.
