Baseball Recap: Kennett Beats Bernie for Their Second Straight Win

Bernie typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Kennett proved too difficult a challenge. They never let the Mules get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Bernie's batters probably weren't too happy with Hayden Gilmore, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up two walks). Gilmore also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Kennett is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Kennett saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cash Franklin, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. That's the most runs Franklin has posted since back in April.

Kennett's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Bernie, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.

Looking ahead, Kennett will host South Pemiscot at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bernie, they will head out on the road to face off against Caruthersville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mules surely won't give up without a fight.
