League recap: Millbrook rolls against Stissing Mountain

Tri-Valley led Section 9 C-II in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Fallsburg.

Sullivan West's dynamic duo of Sawyer Erlwein and Bryan Stauch proved tough for New Paltz to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Erlwein threw for 50 yards and Stauch had 45 yards receiving. Andrew Stabbert helped Sullivan West's passing attack out by catching one ball for 35 yards.

Paul Boardman made the biggest impact on defense this week as Millbrook bested Stissing Mountain. The senior recorded one fumble and racked up one sack.

Henry Cardinal was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 219 yards as the Blazers fell to the Huguenots. Joe Daley also contributed to the rushing game with 118 yards on the ground.

Sullivan West's Erlwein and Stauch have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Erlwein has thrown for 199 yards this season, while Stauch has six catches for 117 yards. Cardinal from Millbrook leads the league in rushing with 748 yards.

The top two teams in Section 9 C-II will face off this week when first place Sullivan West takes on second place Tri-Valley. Last week, the Bulldogs lost to New Paltz, while the Bears beat the Comets.

Cardinal broke off the longest rushing play in the league this week with a 51-yard scamper against the Bombers.
