Basketball Recap: South Charlotte Comes Up Short

After flying high against Forsyth Home Educators on Friday, South Charlotte came back down to earth. The Thunder were beaten by the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers 83-54 on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Thunder's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Thunder players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Miller, who posted six points. Mason Kern was another key player, putting up nine points.

Charlotte Country Day School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nolan Lowery led the charge by shooting 67% from the field en route to 17 points and six assists. What's more, Lowery posted two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Youakim, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 16 points and six assists.

South Charlotte's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Charlotte Country Day School, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

South Charlotte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-58 victory against Chatham HomeSchool on the 22nd. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they have also already played their next matchup, a 79-40 defeat against Forsyth Country Day on the 21st.
