Harlandale comes up short despite Noel Serna's dominant performance

Recap: Harlandale Indians vs. Southwest Legacy Titans

It was a good run, but the Harlandale Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Southwest Legacy by a score of 64-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Harlandale has suffered yet this season.

When it comes to explaining why Harlandale lost, one person who can't be blamed is Noel Serna. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Serna continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Roger Dominguez, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.

It was another big night for Giovanni Aranda, who scored 24 points along with six steals and five rebounds for Southwest Legacy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Aranda has scored at least a third of Southwest Legacy's points. Another player making a difference was David Cavazos, who scored 11 points along with four steals.

Harlandale's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Southwest Legacy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-16 record this season.

Harlandale will look to defend their home court on Friday against Winn at 6:30 p.m. Winn is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Southwest Legacy, they will head out on the road to square off against Medina Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Medina Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
