Recap: Tornillo Coyotes vs. Immanuel Christian Warriors
The Tornillo Coyotes's 30-2 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. Their tough 69-43 loss to Immanuel Christian on Saturday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Tornillo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1065th, while Immanuel Christian is ranked 366th).
Immanuel Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Josiah Johnson out in front who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hector Perez, who scored 15 points along with 7 assists and 5 steals.
Tornillo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Immanuel Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tornillo is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Ysleta at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. As for Immanuel Christian, they will face off against Deming at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
