The biggest upset of the week belonged to Savannah Country Day, who defeated 344th ranked Portal, 17-14. Hunter Hatley threw for 148 yards and ran for 93 yards during the win.

Calvary Day extended the longest winning streak in A Region 3A this week by beating Claxton, 48-6. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Cavaliers.

Ben Jackson was the best running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 148 yards as Savannah Christian beat the Panthers. Teammate Wade Benton added to the ground attack by rushing for 91 yards.

On the heels of Michael Peterson and Robert Heyward, Calvary Day has had great success on offense. Peterson is tops in the league in passing with 1,602 yards, while Heyward has rushed for 534 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Savannah Country Day's Johnson, with 456 yards on 28 catches.

Next week's game between Mark Stroud's team and Portal will feature a good passing match up as Peterson will test his arm against Harrison Sherrod's defensive ability.

The Cavaliers are in first place, while David NeSmith's team is in fifth place.

The Tigers lost to Calvary Day 48-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
