Baseball Recap: Hughes Springs Makes It Six in a Row at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hughes Springs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Daingerfield Tigers 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Tigers last Tuesday, they had to take a 6-4 loss.

Hughes Springs' win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Daingerfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4-1.

Coincidentally, Hughes Springs and Daingerfield will both be playing Jefferson the next time they take the field. Hughes Springs will host Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Daingerfield will host them at 6:00 p.m. on April 15.
