After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northridge Academy, the Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They took down Vaughn 69-50. For Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences, this counts as revenge for the 70-60 defeat Vaughn walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Vaughn still got an impressive performance from Andrew Gonzalez, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Adam Andrade, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Vaughn, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Sherman Oaks CES at 4:00 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Sherman Oaks CES is ranked 866th, while Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences is ranked 881st). As for Vaughn, they will head out on the road to square off against Northridge Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
