Volleyball Game Preview: Hinkley Thunder vs. Thomas Jefferson Spartans

The Hinkley Thunder are taking a road trip to square off against the Thomas Jefferson Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Monday, Hinkley didn't have quite enough to beat George Washington and fell 3-2.

Hinkley actually scored more points across those five sets (99-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 20-25, 25-20, 12-25, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson earned a 3-1 win over Vista PEAK Prep on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Thomas Jefferson had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-21.

Hinkley has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Thomas Jefferson, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Hinkley beat Thomas Jefferson 3-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Thunder repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
