West Clermont wins going away against Mt. Healthy

Recap: West Clermont Wolves vs. Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls
The West Clermont Wolves entered their tilt with the Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. West Clermont enjoyed a cozy 47-29 win over Mt. Healthy on Thursday. Given West Clermont's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Mt. Healthy is ranked 377th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Clermont can attribute much of their success to Taylor Schmidt, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Layla Hale, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
West Clermont's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Mt. Healthy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Clermont will take on Milford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Milford will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Mt. Healthy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
