Basketball Game Preview: Cape Fear Colts vs. Pine Forest Trojans + How To Watch

The Cape Fear Colts will square off against the Pine Forest Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cape Fear will be strutting in after a victory while Pine Forest will be coming in after a loss.

While Cape Fear's win against Clinton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Colts made off with a 50-49 victory over the Dark Horses. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Dark Horses recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Pine Forest came up short against Cary on Tuesday and fell 53-45. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Pine Forest saw an underclassman step up: freshman Robert Stubbs went 7-for-14 to rack up 15 points and three steals. Calvin Townsend was another key player, putting up 13 points and five rebounds.

Cape Fear's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Pine Forest, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Cape Fear came up short against Pine Forest when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 50-44. Can the Colts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
