Basketball Game Preview: Plymouth Big Red vs. Mapleton Mounties

Plymouth is 2-8 against Mapleton since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Plymouth Big Red will head out to challenge the Mapleton Mounties at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Saturday, Plymouth came up short against Lucas and fell 42-29. While the Big Red didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cubs 10-6 in the first quarter.

Mapleton has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 48-34 fall against New London on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Mounties have lost by exactly 14 points.

Mapleton's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3. As for Plymouth, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Plymouth took a serious blow against Mapleton in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 56-29. Can Plymouth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
