Parish Hill takes loss despite strong efforts from Julie Millerd and Hannah Becker

Recap: Parish Hill Pirates vs. Windham Whippets

After flying high against the Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy Phoenix last Friday, the Parish Hill Pirates came back down to earth. Parish Hill took a serious blow against Windham on Thursday, falling 82-18. Parish Hill was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

Hannah Becker and Julie Millerd certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Becker scored three points along with six rebounds and three blocks, while Millerd scored ten points.

Hailey Flores was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 steals for Windham. Flores hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Aniya Jenkins, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Parish Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Windham, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home.

Parish Hill won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Putnam at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Putnam has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 27. As for Windham, they will head out on the road to square off against Bacon Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bacon Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
