Baseball Game Preview: Marion Wildcats vs. Collinsville Kahoks

The Marion Wildcats will challenge the Collinsville Kahoks at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Collinsville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Marion, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Marion duked it out with Richland County on Friday. The Wildcats walked away with a 6-2 win over the Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Collinsville and Belleville East had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Kahoks took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers on Thursday. Kahoks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Lancers since on Thursday.

Collinsville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Stirnaman, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Marion's victory bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Collinsville, their loss dropped their record down to 13-19.

Marion skirted past Collinsville 4-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Kahoks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
