The Reagan County Owls will face off against the Sundown Roughnecks on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Reagan County comes in on eight and Sundown on 14.
Reagan County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They didn't even let Clarendon on the board, marking the Owls' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Owls, who have now won 16 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Brooklynn Reyes made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Yasmine Wells, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Natalia Aguilar, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Sundown posted their closest victory since May 29, 2025 on Saturday. They skirted past Haskell 3-2.
Breigh Gregory spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits.
At the plate, Nayleen Morin was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season.
Sundown hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive contests.
Reagan County's win bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Sundown, their victory bumped their record up to 27-3.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Reagan County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .471. However, it's not like Sundown struggles in that department as they've averaged .481. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
