After only two runs in their last contest, San Lorenzo Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Aptos on Tuesday. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Mariners 11-9. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Mariners back in April, they had to take a 9-2 defeat.

San Lorenzo Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Aptos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Looking ahead, San Lorenzo Valley will challenge Harbor at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Aptos, they will square off against Soquel at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mariners are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
