Recap: Hillcrest Vikings vs. Oakhaven Hawks
The Hillcrest Vikings took a 44-point loss the last time they faced off against the Oakhaven Hawks, but they managed to turn things around on Friday. Hillcrest sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 90-87 win over Oakhaven. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Xavier Herron, who dropped a triple-double on 46 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Mario Morgan was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Hillcrest has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Oakhaven, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillcrest will take on City University School of Liberal Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: J'Rias Bush and Jordan Allen. As for Oakhaven, they will head out on the road to challenge Memphis School of Excellence at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
