Football Recap: Upland Comes Up Short

After soaring to 31 points the game before, Upland was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were outmatched by the Bishop Amat Lancers and fell 32-3. The contest marked the Highlanders/Scots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Lequand (Jack Jack) Jackson threw for 137 yards on ten of 24 attempts. Jerome Smith (Spanky) was his top target, picking up 89 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Ryan Salcedo, who rushed for 144 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.6 yards per carry for Bishop Amat. Salcedo's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 112 rushing yards.

Upland dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bishop Amat, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Upland and Bishop Amat will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Highlanders/Scots see the field they'll take on Chino Hills at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd. As for Bishop Amat, their break will end when they face Chaminade at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd.
