Basketball Recap: Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] Comes Up Short

After flying high against Valley Falls last Tuesday, Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] came back down to earth. The game between the Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] Cyclones and the Troy Trojans didn't end well, with the Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] Cyclones falling 48-31. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-21 back in December of 2024.

Troy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Harper Whetstine out in front who posted 15 points and three steals. What's more, Whetstine also posted a 20% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gracie Grable, who put up 13 points and three steals.

Riverside [Wathena/Elwood]'s defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Troy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] has already played their next contest (against Pleasant Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Troy also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against Blue Valley.
