Softball Recap: Snook Christian Academy Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Snook Christian Academy came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Atmore Christian Rams with a sharp 17-5 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-2 back in February.

Madelyn Tompkins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Hayes, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kenley Gray, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Snook Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Snook Christian Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-8. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 8.33 strikeouts in those games compared to only 2.91 in the others. As for Atmore Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
