Hicksville lost to DeKalb back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Aces came out on top in a nail-biter against the Barons, sneaking past 9-8.
Hicksville let Mckenna Baird and Lilly Porter run wild. Baird went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Porter got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles Porter has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Nickels, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Hicksville's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for DeKalb, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.
Hicksville will have a chance to go back-to-back against DeKalb: the pair will be back at it again later today.
