Volleyball Game Preview: Shadyside Tigers vs. Frontier Cougars

For the second straight game, Shadyside will face off against Frontier. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Shadyside has three straight wins, Frontier has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

It was a proper cat-fight when Shadyside duked it out with Frontier on Wednesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 3-0 victory. The game was the first time the Tigers have beaten the Cougars on their court since August 30, 2021.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-12, 25-15.

Shadyside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ali Weatherson led the charge by getting 27 assists and six digs. Weatherson is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season. Aubrey Nippert was another key player, getting nine digs and six kills.

Frontier's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Shadyside, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
