Basketball Recap: West Monroe Takes a Loss

West Monroe suffered their closest loss since January 4, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Ouachita Parish Lions by a score of 66-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (63), the Rebels still had to take the loss.

West Monroe dropped their record down to 9-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Ouachita Parish, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Monroe will welcome Minden at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Monroe knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Minden likes a good challenge. As for Ouachita Parish, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Ouachita Parish Lions challenge the Neville Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
