Softball Game Preview: Bishop Union Broncos vs. Rosamond Roadrunners

The Bishop Union Broncos will head out on the road to take on the Rosamond Roadrunners at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Union has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bishop Union is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Bakersfield Christian just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 13-5 to the Eagles. The game marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Rosamond was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victors by a 22-11 margin over Frazier Mountain. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Roadrunners.

Cheyenne New was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Cecilia Baltazar was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Rosamond always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .757. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Rosamond's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Bishop Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Everything went Bishop Union's way against Rosamond in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Bishop Union made off with a 17-2 victory. Does Bishop Union have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rosamond turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
