Baseball Recap: Hernando Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Hernando's offense. They came up short against the Northpoint Christian Trojans on Friday, falling 8-0. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Hernando saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reece Canizaro, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Hernando's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Northpoint Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Hernando and Northpoint Christian are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Tigers will be playing at home against Germantown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northpoint Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Lausanne Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
