Volleyball Recap: Malden Takes a Loss

Malden lost against Gideon back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Green Wave came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Green Wave have suffered since September 11th.

Malden was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-10, 25-21.

Jalynn Ford was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 15 digs and three assists. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

Malden has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-6-3 record this season. As for Gideon, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-1.

Looking ahead, Malden will venture away from home to face off against Campbell at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gideon, they will welcome Bernie at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
