Baseball Recap: Bishop O'dowd Finds Home Field Redemption Against El Cerrito

There's no place like home for Bishop O'Dowd, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the El Cerrito Gauchos on Wednesday, sneaking past 4-3. This was payback for the Dragons, who suffered a 7-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Tucker Eddy looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Bishop O'Dowd saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dimitri Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits Williams has posted since back in April of 2024. Rashad Hayes was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win got Bishop O'Dowd back to even at 2-2. As for El Cerrito, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Coming up, Bishop O'Dowd will challenge Pinole Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop O'Dowd is facing Pinole Valley at the right time seeing as Pinole Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for El Cerrito, they will square off against Antioch at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
