Recap: Loyd Star Hornets vs. Amite School Center Rebels
The Loyd Star Hornets put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Amite School Center for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-39 win at home. The result was nothing new for Loyd Star, who have now won five games by 27 points or more so far this season.
Nathan Mills continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Anthony Humphrey was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 5 rebounds.
Loyd Star's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Amite School Center, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Loyd Star has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Puckett at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Amite School Center will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bowling Green at 7:45 p.m. on December 19th.
