Recap: Wakefield Wolverines vs. Enloe Eagles
The Wakefield Wolverines put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 54-48 victory over Enloe. Given Wakefield's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Enloe is ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Wakefield to victory were Syncere Burnette and Tristian Pretlow. Burnette scored 16 points along with three steals, while Pretlow scored 22 points. Burnette is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hampton Ferrell, who scored eight points.
Wakefield pushed their record up to 9-0 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Enloe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Wakefield will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Northern Guilford at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. Enloe and Moravian Prep will round out the year against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at.
