Football Game Preview: Lincoln Northeast Rockets vs. Buena Vista Bison

The Lincoln Northeast Rockets will challenge the Buena Vista Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a classic North v. South duel when Lincoln Northeast challenged Lincoln Southwest on Thursday. The Rockets came up short against the Silver Hawks, falling 35-13. The Rockets have struggled against the Silver Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Julian McDonald, who picked up 99 receiving yards and one TD. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 89 yards.

While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Vikings are ranked 26th).

Buena Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lincoln Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Lincoln Northeast against Buena Vista when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-6 victory. In that matchup, the Rockets amassed a halftime lead of 37-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
